The Story of Day Zero Music

I discovered Second Life by chance a few years ago. For those who don't know it, it's a virtual online world where people can meet and pursue their passions. There are people who build fantastic places, design clothes, organize events and, last but not least, run music clubs. All in all, a world in which you can experience a lot.

One day, my forays into this world led me by chance to one of these music clubs. Something happened that I hadn't expected. I was in the middle of a lot of club guests, dancing and listening to live mixes from great DJs. People were chatting, having fun and making new friends there. Fascinated by this, I started to visit more and more clubs and continued to listen to fantastic DJs. Music has always been my passion and it grew as I forayed into the clubs.

One evening I was in one of these clubs again. There were a lot of people there. I watched them dancing, followed the chat in which they were having fun and was impressed by the DJs who entertained the crowd fantastically. I dreamed and saw myself on the stage of this famous club as a DJ, admired by the people there. It was a dream that was about to come true. Without knowing whether I was capable of being a DJ, I bought music, software, a controller (mixer) and started mixing my first sets. But I was too cowardly to perform in public with it, until one day a friend (she is a DJ herself) found out that I was mixing as a hobby. She persuaded me to get a stream and play her my mixes. It was a strange evening. She was with me for 4 hours and listened to me in silence. When I stopped mixing, she just said: "You are great. People need to hear you." From then on, everything happened very quickly. She got me gigs in clubs where she played herself. Other club owners noticed me and made me offers. And today I play in the best and most famous clubs in Second Life. A dream came true. Today I mix numerous genres: "Deep House, House, Funky House, Disco House, Progressive House, Melodic House, Tech House, Afro House, Melodic Techno, Progressive and Vocal Trance, PSY Trance and Indie Dance.

In my time as a DJ so far, I got to know many other talents. Talents that hardly anyone got to hear because they weren't as lucky as me. Like my friend back then, I was convinced that many of these talents needed to be heard and so the idea of founding Day Zero Music was born to connect great DJs and up-and-coming talents with music fans. During this time, I also founded my own music club "Day Zero" in Second Life, where I always give new talents the chance to mix in front of an audience.

Day Zero Music is still a very new station that hasn't been online for long. So it's clear that we can't offer a 24/7 live program with DJs at the moment. However, the number of DJs will grow permanently. There are already many who are enthusiastic about the idea and will soon be expanding our DJ team. So check back regularly. You won't regret it.

It was and is a great time and I would like to thank everyone who supported me so much.

Thank you all,

Chantal
